(CNSNews.com) - For the first time in the history of the United States, the federal government has spent more than $3 trillion in the first eight months of the fiscal year, according to the Monthly Treasury Statement released today.

The record $3,013,541,000,000 that the federal government spent in October through May of fiscal 2019 was $181,157,920,000 more than the previous record of $2,832,383,080,000 (in constant May 2019 dollars) that the federal government spent in October through May of fiscal 2009

Professor Laurence Tribe has an excellent idea. In essence, his suggestion is to open an impeachment enquiry, but not for the purpose of sending it forward to the Senate to be killed off, but to result in a censure from the House.

The House's powers will be at their peak, witnesess will have to attend, including Mueller and they'll get access to all docs easier.

Dems get to air all of Trump's dirty laundry without giving him the opportunity of proclaiming vindication for 2020.

To be honest, each day his chances of re-election get worse. This should finish him off.

Well if they made a compelling case, the public paid attention and supported it and the Senate automatically killed it, you would have a chance at taking the majority in the Senate in 202, which is a distinct possibility anyway.

He's not entirely wrong though. The outrage is framed around Russian operatives giving dirt on Hilldog, not the myriad of other possibilities that could occur where that "dirt" might actually be beneficial, Like in some kind of dossier that that FBI could use to launch an investigation.

Unless the evidence isnt really there and it reenforces the "witch hunt" narrative like we saw with Mueller. I think Pelosi is doing the right thing but letting him hang himself vs trying to go directly after him.
