How did you feel about it? I've only read Midnight's Children, which I thought was fantastic.

I officiated a wedding (for my best friend) in Stillwater Minnesota. It's only a 7 hour drive from there to Kansas, so the wife and I decided to make a trip home to see friends/family. It was a fantastic trip all around and I feel reset and refocused in a lot of ways. Ate a lot of great food. Met some awesome people. Drank a lot of local beers. Caught up with a really great friend who I hadn't seen in more than 5 years. Lots of laughs. It was really lovely.

But FUCK does everyone have kids now! Holy shit.

Oh, it was great. If I didn't have to read it for a class I may never have cracked it, but so glad I did.

Finished Over the Edge of the World. What a horrendous ordeal.

Just started Batavia's Graveyard. Another book in my favorite genre: Naval Calamity.

This is well worth your time. O Brien is a radio host on LBC in the UK. One of the only voices speaking out against Brexit. The book (better experienced in audiobook) is him speaking about the calls that come in from those frantic and broadly ignorant ordinary people calling into his show about bloody immigrants and brexit. He’s brilliant at taking their points apart and making them realise quite often how ridiculous their point of view is.
He’s a super sharp and informative entertaining guy.
