Re: Zelda Games
Ok I’m completely bewildered and lost and confused.
I know this one is completely different to the format I’m used to but it’s proving to be a whole lot more difficult to come to grips with than I thought.
I will persevere. With the aid of a comprehensive walkthrough by my side. Only for reference. Not for complete cheat sheet

I started playing A Link to the Past the other day for the very first time.

Jealous. I think that’s my favourite one. It was my first.
But it’s just so brilliant.

Re: Zelda Games
Cadence of Hyrule was released today. $24.99. Good reviews thus far.

And the original game (no Zelda crossover) is super cheap on the EShop right now as well.CopperTom wrote:Cadence of Hyrule was released today. $24.99. Good reviews thus far.

How supercheap? On a side note, is Hollow Knight worth $7.50?Monkey_Driven wrote:And the original game (no Zelda crossover) is super cheap on the EShop right now as well.CopperTom wrote:Cadence of Hyrule was released today. $24.99. Good reviews thus far.

I believe it is less than $5.CopperTom wrote:How supercheap? On a side note, is Hollow Knight worth $7.50?Monkey_Driven wrote:And the original game (no Zelda crossover) is super cheap on the EShop right now as well.CopperTom wrote:Cadence of Hyrule was released today. $24.99. Good reviews thus far.
Yes, a resounding yes. Hollow Knight was one of the best games I played last year.
My review:
Hollow Knight
What an absolute gem. In a genre that has seen hundreds of titles over the years this one is in the top tier. The art style is evocative, moody, but with enough variety to distinguish each area of the map. The gameplay is challenging, but fair. Some bosses tested me, but could be beaten once their patterns were understood. The simple mechanic of choosing to use your meter to either heal or unleash special attacks is implemented perfectly and should be duplicated in other titles. The backtracking, a staple of the genre, never felt like a chore. It allows the player to seek out upgrades and characters. The pacing is good. This is a game I will revisit.

Re: Zelda Games
I played the OG on the Vita and it's hard because you almost have to have headphones in so you can hear the beat well. Like, the distance the sound travels from the speakers to your ears is too far for timing issues. I had the same problem with Rock Band on the PSP, I dunno.CopperTom wrote:Wow, I suck at this. Re: Zelda Games
I am considering turning beat mode off. But it kinda defeats the purpose.

I am enjoying A Link to the Past noticeably more than my revisit of Ocarina of Time.

I only played Ocarina once before. The open world always seemed so bare, even back in the 90s.tree_ wrote:It's all new for you. You probably have Ocarina memorized like the back of your head.Monkey_Driven wrote:I am enjoying A Link to the Past noticeably more than my revisit of Ocarina of Time.
