Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I'm not as die hard of a fan as some around here, but I've seen every episode through probably season 14 or 15. The Tomacco episode is one of my personal favorites.

I’m trying to watch Chernobyl and just...ugh. You really have to work hard to make this material bland/boring/unengaging but they’re pulling it off. The rigid stylistic formula of TV is so exhaustingly, exasperatingly dull.

HBO is the TV equivalent of Marvel.

But on the plus side, the wonderful medium of a TV series also allows them to drag out the narrative to a mindnumbing degree, foregoing any kind of pleasurable pacing or involving momentum! The golden age of television!
