Re: Lightning Bolt -- guess the tracks!
Does anyone really think that this (or any) PJ track will contain any of our most interesting speculations about it?

But the safe bet still probably has to be a song about music

After Ed wrote Supersonic, there was a section that he rejected and made into a little improv, from which he then 'wrote' (and I use that word loosely) this song.

What with the sound of the record scratching and all, I'm going to say this slots in as "Post Script."Jaeti wrote:So, look back at the most recent alleged leaked tracklist (http://www.theskyiscrape.com/2013/08/di ... -leak.html) and compare some of those fake titles to the ones we're learning about now, along with the context the images provide:
We're Outta Here = Getaway
Our Future Days = Future Days
Sirens = Sirens
Apollo = Yellow Moon
Post Script = Let the Records Play
Undertow = Swallowed Whole

Guys, what if "Let the Records Play" is a song that PJ recorded, then recorded the same song as it played on a record player in an empty room

You know, I'm actually starting to believe there really is an attempt at a serious, unified concept with these songs and artwork. Whether the songs prove to be any good, we'll see. But I actually think this song won't be about music. It could suck, but it will suck while containing different subject matter.stip wrote:But the safe bet still probably has to be a song about music

Of all the rampant speculation in this thread this is some of the more plausible workJaeti wrote:What with the sound of the record scratching and all, I'm going to say this slots in as "Post Script."Jaeti wrote:So, look back at the most recent alleged leaked tracklist (http://www.theskyiscrape.com/2013/08/di ... -leak.html) and compare some of those fake titles to the ones we're learning about now, along with the context the images provide:

Re: Lightning Bolt -- guess the tracks!
The artworks gives this a feeling of coherence that we haven't seen before. I wouldn't be shocked, but it could just reflect the vision of the artist. If there was an obvious theme you'd think someone would have alluded to it before now. Something to look or the next Tim we get an interviewJaeti wrote:You know, I'm actually starting to believe there really is an attempt at a serious, unified concept with these songs and artwork. I want to think that PJ will do the most intelligent thing possible with this track title. I want to think that it'll fit the theme and won't be just a stupid song about music. I just don't know if I trust 'em to do that.
