Early draft of ROTJ had luke begging Yoda to bring Obi wan back to help him face Vader and the emperor. Yoda only agrees if Luke truly gives up all his anger. So he does and Yoda does Yoda and manifests Obi wan.
And Luke looked rather real and corporeal in that VF shot.
It’s not like they haven’t gone to unused ideas of George’s before. They won’t but everything is on the table until it isn’t. That’s the fun :)

I hope they don't do the reincarnated thing or "he didn't really die". He died. Let him just be a force ghost. Otherwise you might as well introduce infinity stones and have Kylo snap his fingers or something
