Re: TV: Stranger Things
I think it starts pretty slowly but overall I liked this season far better than the second one. It's significantly more fun.

Watching the recap before S3 reminded me that Paul Reiser has a role in this. Good times.

I only have two episodes left. It's been okay but not great. I'm hoping they can stick the landing though.

Re: TV: Stranger Things
That was fun. Ultimately, I have basically the same issues with this season as I've had with every season. But just like the previous seasons it's mostly fun and easy to ignore the flaws in favor of the good stuff.

Great season. Up there with Season 1. The filmmaking is top notch and the art is just insane.
Damn the cast is good.

That would be WAY cooler as that choice wouldn't completely take the air out of the S3 finale.VinylGuy wrote:I got another.

Re: TV: Stranger Things
Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked it, as I'd thought the second season was good, but not great; they're very good with setting up and delivering on their narrative in fun ways. I'd finished the season, but a roommate had on the first episode and I watched about half of it, and was pleasantly surprised; I'd felt like the episode was slow-moving on first watch, but seeing it again it was surprising how well it was setting up everything that was going to follow.VinylGuy wrote:Great season. And agreed on the cast; they've got so many actors that are able to carry scenes. Usually, saying something is "good for what it is" sounds like a copout, but it fits here; for the specific thing this show is going for, they do it well.

Re: TV: Stranger Things
Yeah, I thought it ended with one of the best episodes of the season, which was a change from the previous two seasons for me.
