Because that beer is so hop forward, I've never seen it paired with food before. Curious, how did it affect the taste of what you were eating?
It was an asian noodle soup so it actually worked pretty well. The soup had a bit of spice and a lot of ginger/sesame flavor.
Awesome. I love that beer. You should try Palate Wrecker from Green Flash as well.

I've heard many great things about it...

I really wish they distributed to California.

Elysian was probably my favorite Brewery during my North West trek a few summers ago.

Here's a decent article on the master brewer at the Hill Farmstead brewery in Vermont (which was named 2013 best brewery in the world by Rate Beer (take it FWIW)). I want a beer . . .

I'll be up there in 6 weeks - hope I get a chance to try that.

Had some Stone Gotterdamerung finally and Dogfish Head 61 minute made with Syrah Grape Must.

Both were very good, It may be my favorite Stone IPA, it's not just another ultra hoppy west coast IPA, it's not quite as hop forward there's more going on than just hops, though it showcases them very well.

The 61 minute is refreshing and tasty. The Grape Must takes the edge off of the IPA and gives it a different finish. I'm not sure everyone would like it but I did.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan. I don't know if it was because I was expecting (and wanting) something different, but to me it was just blah.

Ithaca Brewing Co. was mentioned a few pages back. I'm not a fan of their Flower Power, which everyone seems to reccomend. But their Caskazilla is top notch. Just picked up a case of this. Looking forward to drinking it over the holiday weekend.

This seems intriguing...I'm gonna see if Total Wine has it this weekend.

Any thoughts on the Stone Enjoy By 9/13/13? I don't think I've read any comments yet.

I really really enjoyed it. Maybe not to the same level as the one in march, but I had no expectations for that one and it was amazing.

Did you detect a hint of onion? I heard some people complaining about that.

I have 2 bottles at home that I just remembered I bought last week, so I'll be partaking this weekend. I was just curious to hear other peoples' thoughs.

And Douglas Railroad: I had the Stone R & R with coconut last night. Really good.

Going to drink it tonight. I generally really like Oracle, but it isn't as good to me as Bells other significantly hop forward offerings (hopslam, 2 hearted)

Man, I gotta drink that R&R too. I have a lot of beer, and very little time to drink it.

I wish we had Dogfish around here. We do have Boulevard Smokestack Series though, which are always fantastic.
