I like DLR-era Van Halen a lot too (I pretty much consider it the high watermark of this type of 70's/80's sleaze rock), and I'm not a big "Runnin' With the Devil" fan either.

Here's my VH top ten:

Little Dreamer
Dance the Night Away
DOA
Romeo Delight
Could This Be Magic
Mean Streets
Unchained
I'll Wait
Panama
Hot for Teacher

Runnin’ With the Devil is kinda like Enter Sandman or Jeremy or Smells Like Teen Spirit. You almost feel obligated to put it on there.

You guys ever hear any of their pre-first album demos? Or the ones Gene Simmons produced?

I like the song 5150. The album itself sounds pretty dated unfortunately.

Aren't those what they used to record the 2012 album, which was surprisingly decent?

Dave era had some alright songs, Sammy Hagar ficking sucks. I watched some show where him and Guy Fieri interviewed Maynard from Tool and it was horrible.

You should dig a little deeper. Even the Van Hagar stuff is sprinkled with gems like Poundcake
The deeper I dig, the more shitty they sound.
I am in agreement with you here, Burt.
