They look like I had too many storm trooper figurines when I was a kid, so I grabbed my mom's nail polish and went to town

Heh, I remember around 1983 the Emperor was a mail away figure. Had to collect the Kenner UPCs and maybe some money too and send it off. Allow 6 - 8 weeks for delivery. :haha:

The guy that wrote Justice League and Batman v. Superman is on this?

Dear heavenly Lord Jesus Christ this might be the worst star wars movie yet.

He also wrote Argo and won an Oscar for it.

He could have wrote Citizen Kane and it wouldn't make up for Justice League.

Can’t argue with that.

BvS needs to been in context though. Meaning the extended version.
It’s a completely different and rather great film.

Fuck

What if Palpatine comes back off screen after TLJ before this one and he’s become kylos master?

Everyone’s saying he has to be linked to Rey cos of the jakku situation but who knows

It would explain why sith troopers are a thing and they answer only to Kylo

ah huh

Writers in hollywood are failry innocuous to their projects, frankly. And when they do overstep in the system's workings we get issues like JL and Solo. for better or worse, film isn't a writer's medium. The writers names attached to this make zero difference.
As as been pointed out this dude did Argo and JL. This movie will win or lose on the back of JJ Abrams and JJ Abrams alone.

Or maybe Kylo has just done more research and learning. With Snoke (not a Sith) out of the way he's discovered that Vader was a Sith and so he's co-opted that just like he's co-opted so much else about his persona/personality. Maybe he names the Troopers "Sith Troopers" and they are his personal body guards. Maybe he got the idea from the Emperor's guards (also red).

It'll be interesting to see how much Jakku plays into this movie. The novels/comics/games/etc have detailed a real connection between The Emperor and Jakku. But does this movie care about that? I'm guessing JJ certainly doesn't.

I'm excited to see how it all comes together and plays out. There are so many options and possibilities! It's an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan.

Ooh. I like that.

Would hope that JJ lands it in a satisfying way. Overall. He’s never gonna land it to the type of nitty gritty you just outlined and we’d all come love. But maybe.
Have one fear here.
First order /state of play politically were not explained at all in TFA.
This is where my Palpatine idea comes in.
I hope it isn’t just dropped on us and it happened off screen. There has to be a backstory or reveal.
Has to be

Or Rey and the gang go the ruins of the Death Star and find Palpatine didn’t actually die when Vader three him down the shaft and the sith troopers are his guard?

Could be anything
