I like the song 5150. The album itself sounds pretty dated unfortunately.
Was kinda directing that more at the title track but the album is cool.. summer nights, inside, and why can't this be love are good tunes

I really like poundcake a lot too
Black & Blue is the best Sammy song. As much as I like Poundcake and Runaround off FUCK, it’s Black & Blue.

The idea of fucking someone until they are "black and blue" disturbs me. That's what the song is about isn't it?

Google seems to suggest one is in the works and additionally there was just a short one released about a guy who won an MTV contest to party with them for a weekend in 1984 called Lost Weekend.

Heh. Yeah, pretty much. But what do you expect to happen when the piece you’re sticking it to is called Poundcake?

MTV had a Rockumentary around the time FUCK came out. I want a good book. Seems like there was one I read about 10 years ago but it maybe didn’t have a lot of Sammy stuff in it. I’ve read his book (it really turned me off on him as a person), but that’s only one side. I want an all-inclusive history from days of birth to now. Really in-depth.

I read once that EVH was pretty pissed about what Sam came to the table with as far as lyrics for Poundcake. It's a great song....but only because of the instrumentation.

Have you ever read Roth's book Crazy From the Heat? I haven't and I'm not sure it would be worth it. I also heard Roth on WTF pod recently and thought he was surprisingly coherent. Dave seems to be the one willing to tell the stories.

I have. It’s just like having a conversation with him must be. It was ok. Nothing special. He did explain about the brown M&Ms being in the contract riders, tho.

Intruder into Pretty Woman is still pretty awesome. They were my fave band for awhile as a kid. They had the best videos.

Side note: my first unchaperoned concert was DLR at the New Haven Coliseum on his Skyscraper tour; he rode a suspended surfboard over the audience.

Doesn't he also talk about how he was abducted by aliens?

Sammy may be the worst lyricist in the history of music. My favorite song by him with VH is Summer Nights but man are those lyrics horrible.

Yeah he's a nut with that stuff but if I remember right he might admit it could have been a dream. I don't remember. The VH section rang true to me though.

"Wham bam, oh Amsterdam" isn't an awesome chorus in your opinion?

Here's another good Sammy lyrics:

She's so fine, how about a nine on a ten scale
With long legs straight on up to her lunch pail
Sweet little wishbone, oh yeah
Don't wanna break her in half
Lick up one side and down the other
Always makes her laugh

I like how Sammy sings songs I just have to not pay attention to the words he's singing.

I just read through the Summer Nights lyrics:

Just hangin' 'round the local parking lot
Checkin' out the girls see what they got
Yea they love it when me and the boys
Start playin' love with them human toys
Yea we just wind 'em up and let 'em go, oh yea

Lol
