I'm okay with a band releasing a flop. At least they're trying something new. Hopefully they regroup and review why the album flops. Do they still really believe in it and it was the right album at the wrong time? Or was it a piece of shit and no one had the balls to tell the band?
Other creative mediums are much more allowing of a flop.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

I'm totally in defense of Janet leaving the band if she felt like she needed to, but I also don't really get how someone could understand Carrie being pissed off about how it went down, particularly if it was truly that sudden. It's a situation where everyone is completely justified in their perspective.

Janet definitely thinks the record sucks, and based on what we've heard that is true. What I'd like to know is if she expressed frustration during recording that wasn't taken into consideration. If that was the scenario you can't really fault her for saying screw it.

I'm excited to hear it. I liked the first one so much that I just pre-ordered the record and decided not to listen to anything else until I have the whole album.

After one album where she gets her feelings hurt? Lame.
Stone didn't leave Pearl Jam after Vitalogy.

He probably should have left after Backspacer. Boom is Annie Clark in this scenario.

I just don't see how there's enough information to form a reliable, informed opinion on this either way.

Trag, you at least have personal experience with SK to pull from. But I'm seeing too many strong opinions in general, all around, that it gives me pause and makes this whole thing feel weird and icky.

This is where I stand. From an outsider's perspective it seems pretty shitty of Janet to leave the band at this time, but there's probably much more there.
