Yeah, for sure. What would Summerteeth have to do to get higher in your ranking, Trag? To me, that one strikes a good balance between heaviness and on-the-go listenability.tragabigzanda wrote:The funny thing is that I'll reach for the bold ones more often that the top two just because of their immediate accessibility and loose nature. Those top two are undeniably the better albums, but they're also fairly dense.

to me, it's just a jeff tweedy solo albumtragabigzanda wrote:Conversely, it bums me out to see you guys not loving Schmilco like I do. It's like the perfect mellow album.

Re: wilco
Being There feels more like a compilation to me, best way I can put it. When I look at the track listing, I’m reminded that it’s got a lot of my favorite Wilco songs, but I just never seem to be able to make it through the entire album in one listen unless I’m on a solo road trip. I can’t remember the last time I was on a solo road trip, though.

Re: wilco
Would there be any interest in LAL’ing Wilco albums for the next few weeks? If so, what do you guys think a reasonable amount of time to spend with each album and discuss should be?

Re: wilco
I did it yesterday. There’s some hummable songs on there even if they are forgettable. It just sucks as an album. It would be fun to get everyone’s thoughts on it while we listen.verb_to_trust wrote:I'd do it. LALing Whole Love will suck though

Re: wilco
I think it’s because you just listed the only memorable songs on there. I don’t mean to sound snarky or dismissive, but I don’t know how else to say it. There’s just not that many good songs on there and it’s not cohesive at all.Strat wrote:I also really enjoy I might, sunloathe, dawned on men, Born Alone, and One Sunday Morning
Not sure why this album gets such a negative review.

Nah, Standing O is and Whole Love pretty good as well. Far more interesting than more recent stuff.washing machine wrote:I think it’s because you just listed the only memorable songs on there. That's half the record being pretty darn decent.

Re: wilco
The Whole Love should have been a 7 inch: A: Art of Almost B: One Sunday Morning.
