That trailer gave me the feels all over. I don't know that there's been a movie I've been more excited for - the original had such an impact on me growing up

I still haven't seen Clerks, I can't even tell you why since I bought the Clerks X release and then never played it. I've seen Mallrats, Dogma, J&SBSB, and Z&MMAP and that's it. I listen to his podcasts because his guests and co-hosts are usually pretty good but if it's any of his friends other than Scott I skip it.

Listening to his break down after Z&M was really weird. He overshares in a way that should make him blush but he revels in it, it's the oddest thing.

but you've never seen Chasing Amy?! That's his best one, and the only one besides Clerks (the original) that I think still holds up really well.

I did really enjoy his live reading of his Hit Somebody script, I wish he'd wrap that up in the audio sphere. It was great for the drive from Spokane to Missoula.

So the Cats trailer came out today. I can't watch it but I've been somewhat eagerly anticipating it just because of the talent involved. Twitter reaction is...mixed? so I'm a little less eager to watch the trailer. I'll still watch it because I'm still interested in what that much talent put together.

Chasing Amy and Clerks both need to be dedicated viewings to get the most out of them and I agree they are the two that still hold up, though for different reasons possibly.

To me Mallrats is the only other bit of his work that I have seen and enjoyed but even that thought is probably drenched in nostalgia. I am a big Zevon fan so I do want to see Hit Somebody turn in to something... definitely something that includes David Letterman and preferably includes Denis Leary in some way.

Oh man, I could see Letterman or Leary in the dad role really well. Did you listen to his live reading? It's the best thing he's done in years (both the writing, and his performance of it).

I have not but it sounds like something I must immediately seek out, the project was dormant for so long it totally slipped my mind.

Just a heads up that he did two separate episodes, then combined those into a more tightly edited single episode -- you should seek that one out. He also said he was going to do like 4-5 more episodes until he had read the whole thing, but he must have lost his script on the way to the marijuana store.

No wonder it can't progress...

Oddly I turned Top Gun on at the brewery last night and for all the bombast and overacting it is a damn entertaining movie. That said I am glad Val is still active given the bouts with cancer and I will try to make it a point to see it in the theater.

That Top Gun trailer was a lot of call backs to the first film and the typical 'that's really Tom Cruise doing X' money shots. The music threw me right back to '86.
