Dr. Mario is a bad game and they should feel bad for making it.

I don't know who wrote the net code for it but in the middle of a single-player game it will just stop and do the loading circle thing because it lost connection. TO WHAT?!?! FFS, I'm playing against a pre-loaded level so wtf is going on here. Not only that but the load times are horrendous. I tried starting a game this morning and my screen went dark because there was no input for a whole minute. I finally said fuck it and deleted the thing. It's barely a puzzler, it controls for shit, and the multiplayer is probably even worse considering how badly the net code is.

About 15-20 hours into Days Gone. The open world is pretty barren. Not too much to do except to drive from point A to point B. Some light RPG/survival elements work with the world/story, but others seem half baked. Pretty good mission variety. Voice acting and performances are pretty hit or miss. The story itself moves along too slowly and so do the upgrading elements.

But yet, I still keep playing it. There's something here that I can't quite put my finger on yet.

You and video games is like me and SNL: even when it’s bad, it’s good.

To be clear, I don't think the game is bad. It is merely mediocre. I'm really curious to see where the story goes because it has introduced some interesting/noteworthy elements rarely explored in a game of this type.

Reacquainting myself with Sim City Build It on the iPhone. This game is so tedious but the payoff of gridding out a nice street plan and upgrading your zones is just too good. Anyone else play?

Keep experimenting throwing Cappy at things. Leads to some pretty hilarious situations.

Man, nobody cares here but I'm loving this game right now. All about buying low in the global trading HQ and selling high. I've got nearly 18,000 population and I'm only on level 7.

Much further into the game now and enjoying it more. Just took on my second horde while fighting human characters. It was a blast to bait the horde into attacking the humans and then killing them all.

I played it for a while until it became too tedious and adding land became such a chore.

Been downloading a lot of stuff onto the PS3 that I've only played on the vita over the intervening years as well as some stuff that I couldn't play at all because it was only on the PS3 like Amplitude and the Rock Band Blitz game. Which, btw, is a complete bitch to go back and forth from as they use different control schemes. I know there is a Blitz setting in Amplitude but it should be the other way around because my first rhythm game was Amplitude on the PS2.

Tried the BttF game and A) the graphics are terrible and B) the game is so slow so C) I think I'm going to find a walkthrough and min max my way through the experience. The few interactions I made it through all seemed to end up at the same place regardless of what selection I picked so it feels really bad.

Also I tried Destiny on it because I found it for $5 and I remembered I'm terrible at shooters.

Finally: I saw a post on twitter yesterday (follow Wario64 for great deal alerts) for Ikaruga for $4.99 on PSN but I couldn't find it on the store. Turns out that it wasn't on the PS3 store. My frothing demand for the game was not satisfied.

Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. This is every bit as difficult as advertised. I’m up to 5-1. I would never have gotten this far without save states. Few mushrooms, few coins, I haven’t even seen a 1-up. Damn.

Anyone played the Golf Club 2 or 3? I'm looking for a simulation golf game and the creative tools look appealing too.

Golf Club 3 is pretty difficult. I'm about as shitty playing it as I am in real life.

Anyone interested in Control or Astral Chain? Both are getting good reviews.
