As I sit here on this 50th anniversary of the lunar landing pondering the sheer improbability of navigation and communication hundreds of thousands of miles outside Earth’s orbit, my thoughts have suddenly focused on something much more immediate: my new robotic vacuum has become stuck and I am unable to assist it. Sometimes you can be so close, yet so far.

A separate lime resupply mission takes me from work to the general vicinity of my domicile and the scene of the robotic vacuum incident. Glancing at my fuel supply, I calculate that I have enough reserves to detour and rescue the rover.

All has been resolved. Time is money and both were wasted in this recovery mission, but cleanliness is next to godliness and god is in the machine.
