Enjoyed it. Not a big fan of Jackie Brown, so I was worried about the comparisons, but it didn't feel as self indulgent to me.

Also I'm a dumbass who walked into the wrong theater and saw the ending on accident. Didn't seem to affect my enjoyment though.

I wonder how much Burt stood there and watched, saying "shit..."

Re: Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
when the "once upon a time in Hollywood" title come up, I thought it was just starting. Then we'd see all the events that led up to the attempted murders. Like most Quentin Tarantino movies.
So I guess the way I watched it was like a typical Quentin movie.

I really enjoyed this. Basically anytime Leo started getting emotional was a highlight for me. Fantastic comedic work from him. Like someone else said, this movie is really warm and charming. I might see it again while it's still in theaters.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Should've been Luke Perry in Leo's role.
Leo shouldn't have gotten most of the roles he did. Other actors would've been better.

Re: Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
Luke Perry would've been great, probably. At least on paper. It would've worked on a meta level, cause he was once a star but no more. Leo is and always has been famous. I'm surprised Tarantino didn't do this or something similar, like what he did for John Travolta by casting him in Pulp Fiction.Monkey_Driven wrote:Troll post.tree_ wrote:Should've been Luke Perry in Leo's role.

Re: Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood
Leo isn't very good. He always seems like he's trying too hard. But that's not what I'm talking about. The choice to put a washed up actor in that role would've been better. And then because Luke Perry is now dead and if he did a brilliant job in that role... think about it.

I don't care. You're an unpopular opinion.
