I don’t really have a problem with Phat’s demonstrated point, even as I disagree with it. The logical conclusion of both his argument and mine seems to be that gun violence touches so many communities, across the entire American spectrum, that only stringent gun laws can save us from this hellscape of unending mass murder.

The way he actually demonstrates his points are rather disingenuous at best. He says he questions everything, but all i hear him questioning is the "msm" and "socialists". He throws out phrases and talking points directly taken from, not shockingly, the most popular news network in the country. Fox News is mainstream. lets be honest.

I haven’t watched Fox News (or any other TV source for “news”) in years.

In all honesty, I may watch TV news of any kind less than 5-10 days a year. And even then it’s in short bursts. I read a lot about what these outlets are saying, and I see some clips from different shows on line, but I am not a Fox News watcher, or CNN watcher, or MSNBC watcher, or even local news watcher.

In the same way that leftists disregard sources politically right of... socialism, I take anything I read from sources like Snopes with a skeptical eye. They have a narrative they are pushing, just like anyone else, you just happen to agree with them ideologically so you don’t question their narrative.

I just straight-up refuse to believe you don't experience even a little bit of cognitive dissonance as you try and pretend that gang violence is the same as what people are talking about when they refer to the "mass-shooting epidemic". And the fact that, when pressed on that distinction, you wave away the argument with flimsy piffle like "killing is killing, isn't it?" comes off as willfully missing the point for the sake of "gotcha!" lib-owning. To skim past nuance like that is the definition of intellectual dishonesty.

Of course they aren’t “the same”. The truth is that gang violence also happens much more frequently and regularly than “mass shootings”. Both are terrible. Both are a problem.

Don Lemon has gone so far as to say on air that white men are the biggest terrorist threat in America. When challenged on that he doubled down. There’s no evidence that what he said is true, but that doesn’t matter to him, or CNN, or the leftists that watch his show. If something like that was said about any other group (women, gays, any racial minority, religious groups, whatever, it would be deemed racist, sexist, some kind of “phobic”, and bigoted. But because Lemon is black and gay and liberal he can say whatever he wants. Similar things are said on basically a daily basis on both Cable “News” shows and Network TV shows.

I’m tired of it too. It’s exhausting.
