Re: Atlanta Braves
Day after Memorial Day and a game and a half out. I'll take it, even if that factors in the Mets & Nats being disappointing so far.
The starting rotation is doing really well right now.

If Folty comes around, it's a rotation that could win a playoff series. I'm a big believer in Soroka and Fried, less so Folty and then Teheran can be very good at times too.
All in all, I'm pleased so far too. Snitker does such a good job with this group.

Yeah, this is where I would come first, too, to confirm news like that.Biff Pocoroba wrote:So they did sign Keuchel?

I was actually asking. What I saw this morning were "reports say" type headlines but nothing was confirmed or official until a little later in the day.Bammer wrote:Yeah, this is where I would come first, too, to confirm news like that.Biff Pocoroba wrote:So they did sign Keuchel?
And yes, a one year deal at $20 million (about $13 mill prorated).

It would be a lot of fun to face Keuchel in a WS.

We'd have to win a playoff series first, the rest of the rotation just isn't all that consistently good. They haven't won a playoff series in 18 years and even with the Keuchel and Donaldson moves, they really aren't even trying to win.

Big day; totally revamped the pen in the last 24 hours. Here's hoping Green in particular is as good as advertised.

Re: Atlanta Braves
Just win a playoff series this year please. I don't think they have the pitching to make or win the big ones, but just winning a series would be a big step. This is as good a lineup and defense as they have had since the 90's and they're weathering injuries well.

That was pathetic. The new guys are fitting right in with the bullpen; it's a dumpster fire.

2020 schedule is out. Trout in ATL on 4th of July weekend. That's the only chance to see him until 2026 maybe. That's the series I want to see.

Two out of three against the Dodgers. I don't think they could beat LA in October but a nice little confidence shot this weekend.

They could have won Friday night too if Soroka was left in over Newcomb to get the 3rd out in the 7th.Biff Pocoroba wrote:Two out of three against the Dodgers. I don't think they could beat LA in October but a nice little confidence shot this weekend.
Winning that series was big, kept the Nationals back too.
