a man lies in his bed in a room with no door
he waits hoping for his father, or a bottle of lightning, or a bottle of jizz to enter
after spending half his life without a bottle of jizz, he still felt as blank
as the ceiling at which he's staring
he's alive, but doesn't have any canned jizz
so, is he?
I'm saddened at how unappreciated this appears to have gone. I enjoyed this post thoroughly.

lol "as early as 2001" to appear on album way in the future...2002.

It's not as if recording OTE in the studio is like landing a surface module on Mars. Just record it they way you played it live, geez.

Was "Sleeping By Myself" one of the original uke songs that Ed played back in like 2001 along with Satellite and Can't Keep? I can't seem to find that info anywhere

Yes! This. And it ended up being a completely different thing. If you played most people those two pieces of music back to back, for the first time, most wouldn't even clue in that they were the same song.
I don't credit people with much intelligence, on the whole, but really?

The melody is there, but Can't Keep on a uke is a cool little Ed song. But with some really warm electric guitar and all the trippy delay, plus a wicked Matt backbeat, that song hypnotizes me every time. Love it. I'm open to SBM being something new and cool as hell.

Both versions are pretty boring to me. I skip them both when I put those albums on.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Yep, and it's so great and loved by the band so much (even Ed) that they play it live all the time.

Personally, I think the Riot Act version is the most soulful, rhythmic thing they've recorded with Matt. Mike's leads have so much trippy rhythm to them...the delays counterpoint those rolling toms. And I find the lyrics uplifting and Ed at his most genuine.

nah, you're probably thinking of Longing To Belong.
I'm pretty sure it was a newer song written for the uke album

Yeah must be. I remember hearing 4-5 songs back then, but I think they were Can't Keep, Satellite, Longing to Belong, and Goodbye

Off topic a bit...
I'll still see Super Mario's legs every time I look at the Getaway image... damn! It's ingrained there forever.

i think the people that are annoyed about SBM just cant see it being good. if they knew it was gonna be good then they would be fine with it being on the album, and most seem to think OTE is good so it being on the album is less annoying.
You're so optimistic about this thing it sounds as if you've heard it :search:
