MYM isn't as special as anything on No Code, neither is FD or LB.

Look at the elements separately - and they are just a bunch of polaroids, nothing special, eh

And songs. The whole package includes the songs.

MYM is a great song. Give it time, and it might reach its well deserved place among the best of the PJ catalog

It's a really good song. I didn't say I didn't like it. But man, we got it a matter of weeks ago and No Code is No Code.

To each his own, but this assessment just seems insane to me. The PJ catalog is pretty fucking phenomenal, and while I do enjoy MYM, I can't ever see it being one of the fifty best songs they've done.

I'd take MYM and LB over just about anything on No Code. Except Off He Goes, Hail Hail and Present Tense. Never cared much for that album. I think, and this is just my view, that a lot of people hold on to No Code and other albums from that era because of the nostalgia. If they actually think the songs on No Code are so great, then I guess we just have a very different appreciation of music.

I grew up in my granparents home. Vineyards, a big garden, a lake nearby, a stream running practically along the fence. Lots and lots of snakes. And weasels! Those are cool little buggers, too bad they went for the chickens, well, the dogs did their job most of the time. And snakes. They like to pick a spot in the sun, you know. Grandpa was scared shitless of them too, he would take a spade and whack it in half and then leave it in the open somewhere outside the fence. I guess he thought it would teach the others a lesson or something

You're probably right. I can't handle how crazy and radical and out there Mind Your Manners is. Thanks for clearing that up. Pearl Jam's experimentation has just gotten beyond my grasp with all of the ground breaking they're doing in Mind Your Manners. Revolutionary beyond my comprehension.

Backspacer is in my regular rotation. It passed the test of time for me, despite it's faults and blunders. But I enjoy the heck out of Johnny Guitar, ATW, Unthought, The End, etc, and it's been a couple of years, no?
