While we were on vacation, the pool pump went out. Had to order the new one, took a week to get here. Meanwhile, the pool essentially turned into an algae-filled frog pond in this heat and humidity. The pump was installed today, and I've been treating it with various things to kill the algae, and as a result, committing mass genocide on millions of tadpoles I've seen in there.

Re: The Home Improvement Thread
In the last week and a half, I've ripped up carpet and laid a new flooring in our music room, had a new pool pump installed (had help with that), got the pool from frog pond to crystal clear again, installed a new irrigation control system outside, fixed a bad sprinkler head, and tracked down and replaced a bad outlet that was causing every other outlet on that particular GFI circuit to short out. Most of this was done by watching YouTube videos when I ran into problems. We have about a month of summer weather left, I'm not doing shit from here on out.

We are expanding our back deck to fit the full frame of the covered portion this weekend. Have lived here for seven years and have been wanting to this since about day two.
