I haven't heard a lot of the 2005 boots, and only have one of the Canadian shows in my collection, but I remember them sounding ok. Maybe they don't but the band is still in pretty good form? I don't remember. Ed's voice still seems to be pretty good in 2005, but by 2006 those extra enunciations and warbles really started to come through.Birds in Hell wrote:I think they sound pretty terrible.dad wrote:word. the two Newfoundland shows are great.Monkey_Driven wrote:I've said it countless times on this board, but to me, the Canada/US 2005 tour is the peak live-PJ.
and the 2005 boots are certainly mixed well, compared to other tours available.
Definitely not as bad as 2008-2010 (not hard) but definitely Brett Eliason's worst mixing job on the official boots.

It really was, and that with Ed being sick during their Adelaide stint...they were a f'n machine during that tour!Birds in Hell wrote:raven2001 wrote:Adelaide I 2006. 10 songs in, a terrific show so far...![]()

West Palm Beach 2000, night 2. been trying to give more love to the 2000 NA tour seeing as i'm always listening to the Euro leg.
randomly pulled this one out to play. so far so good. of the girl back then was absolutely fantastic. still a good song live, but much better from the 2000 tour.

Been going through 2000 shows as I contemplate redoing my old 2000 US comp. I started from TN and I am now in Philly. Man, I will say this, you can clearly tell Ed was going through an awful time with his personal life if you really really listen. It led to some great shows though.

i hated that Jeff was always so low in the mix of those boots. 2005 are my favs because both Matt and Jeff sound so fucking good.tragabigzanda wrote:Memphis 2000. Loose, ramshackle show with an awesome set list that I really enjoy. But wow the mix is bad, Jeff is almost inaudible

Jeff’s mix is almost entirely what determines the quality of the boots for me.

Re: Which bootleg are you listening to?
Currently on the NC shows from 2000, Crazy was soo fucking good back in 2000. The crowds responses anytime it was played was fucking great too. I've always said that Phoenix was the best version, and while I still think it is, the version the played in Atlanta was really good.
