Work to do getting him to accept the also inevitable force ghosts though
Will never happen.
I’ve never said I don’t want Palpatine. I just don’t want him in some dumbass force ghost bullshit.
Aha
So you accept the he incoming force ghosts as a necessary part of the story.
We have movement.
All too easy.
Well, if Luke’s in it I kinda have to accept the fact there will be a force ghost in it. It parallels Obi-Wan and Luke from the OT so that makes sense. There just doesn’t need to be any kind of battle royale on the Force plane between half a dozen of them. And ESPECIALLY not Hayden fucking Christensen.
There’s already people complaining jj is a rip off artist with no creativity. He’s even copied Vader’s entrance into the cave in Luke’s vision on empire with that shot of dark Rey. He kinda has though. If it’s a vision.
We know Luke is in there. He’s on the cast list. His presence makes less sense to me than Anakin or obi wan.
Luke and Rey didn’t get along and didn’t leave on best terms. Straighten out that tangle.
Kylo has anakins helmet. Is obsessed with Vader.
Obi wan has spoken to Rey in tfa. Knew her effing name even and we don’t know why.
Neither or both of those appearing makes as much sense if not more than Luke. Unless it’s to appear to Kylo and piss him off. Bit too real world. Luke wouldn’t do that. Hamill would all hours of the night

But Luke is the only Jedi she has known and the only Jedi to actually give her any kind of training. They’re bound with each other on a level unlike most any other beings in the SW universe. And especially not since Luke went into hiding.
And JJ is a total ripoff artist. For god’s sake he’s remade the two most popular Sci-fi movies ever and called them his own.
I’m not sure they have a bond at all. In any sense. He was a total prick to her. The whole time.
Only way he can make it up is to find out he’s her father and appear to apologize.
I’m kidding. But am I though?
No you’re not. You’ll cream your shorts if she ends up being his daughter.
I dunno. I just feel like, even the way Luke went about it, that for a Jedi to train another in the ways of the Jedi, there has to be something there between them. She would certainly have something more with him than she would fucking Anakin or Obi-Wan.
I really wouldn’t. I do want her to find out who her parents are. But hope they’re just normal people Like this
I love this. It could tie her to Palpatine directly
So then I wonder if the 'Rey is a clone' theory then also attempt to validate Johnson's own approach that Rey was a 'nobody', cos the clone theory doesn't negate that; nor indeed would it necessarily negate the idea that her parents were 'paupers', but also gives her the kind of melodramatic twist that Abrams loves.
They could have been scavengers who happened upon the Death Star ruins, or something clone related, where they find a baby / child among the wreckage. They take Rey in and try to raise her, stuff happens, and they leave her on Jakku for Dramatic Reasons - where the parents either die in a pauper's grave as mentioned, or perhaps get killed by Imperial types trying to find the missing clone. Thus Rey grows up unaware of her true identity and potential.
