I just decided running isn't for me. I was holding onto my youth when i would go out for 13 mile runs on saturday. This was in Minnesota.
It fell by the wayside when I moved to Colorado but i just thought that if i tried more, got different shoes, a new playlist, whatever....that I would love doing it again.
I used to be able to get lost in my head or music. It doesnt happen anymore. Im out.
I was planning on running tomorrow but it looks like I might go camping. Congrats, Verb you get the win this week but I will be back in competition for the foreseeable future, so don't get too comfortable.
Managed to get in a couple of runs this weekend which was good. Was a little wary about going for a run today as I hadn't eaten much during the day and had drunk hardly any water, but absolutely smashed my previous best times for 3km, 5km and 7km so I was happy

Do you prefer running after food?
It was 3pm. I hadn't eaten since 9am

Oh, I see. That makes sense. I'm an empty stomach runner. I tend to prefer running in the morning. But if I do run in the afternoon or evening, I try not to eat much during the day. I'm sure there's science out there that says that's a bad way to handle it. But here we are.
Of course, I'm used to eating at like 7:30am and then not again until 7 or 8pm (on days when I don't run/workout).
Ran 10 yesterday. Was supposed to be a pace run, and I figure a 7:38 pace gives me a 3:20 marathon, which would be more than acceptable after 2 years away. But I felt really good and managed a 7:15 pace. Today I followed it with a very hilly 20 miler and averaged a 7:29 pace. I’m farther along than I thought.
The Twin Cities marathon is still 5 weeks away. The big problem is I have a very exhausting day before the race and would likely get 5 hours of sleep at best the night before. Still, I’ve put on so many miles this summer that I’d like to get a race in before a long winter of training to hit my 3:10 Boston time at Fargo in May. If this weekend is any indication, I don’t think 3:15 is out of reach in 5 weeks.
