The commonly held Xian notion that Jesus controls (and will thus save you from) everything...is an extremely dangerous one. That's how beliefs like this come to fruition.

It's the same people who believe that nothing at all should be done about global warming or pollution because "Jesus controls the weather".

Everything is god's will, so there is no point in fighting evil. Jesus will do it for us instead. Just pray to him hard enough and he will make it happen.
