The remix? Give or take. I love the album as is and it's always been one of my favorite REM records. The reissue itself has me super excited, though. I'm pumped to get a remaster on vinyl. :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:

I'm pretty excited about this reissue, only so I can finally have a copy of Monster on Vinyl
Wasn't overly impresses by the new mix of Kenneth

Same. The new mix is meh. But getting a remaster of the original mix is exciting.

Oh I didn't realize they were doing a straight remaster too. Well that's good.
The 2LP vinyl version I saw for preorder is both. 1 LP is a straight remaster of the original mix and the 2nd is the remix.

I liked the Kenneth remix. There is more space, the voice is more upfront and the guitars still rule.

I don't hear the same space you're hearing. And the vocals being more upfront isn't a plus for me. I actually really dislike that. Probably the thing I like the least about the new mix.

Is improving it really the point though? Just a different take. No big deal. Like an Instagram filter.

I'm not sure what we're talking about here. I will say that the OG mix of In Utero is great. But I think the vinyl version I have, which is the Albini mix is better.

This is exactly my POV on this whole thing. Well said.

It's also why I'm excited for this and not really bothered, ultimately, by what I'm hearing. The Kenneth mix isn't turning me off per se. I'm not crazy about it, but it's totally unoffensive to me.
