Russia's military spending is about 12% of the US's.
The US has 10 aircraft carriers. Russia has 1.
Crimea was Russian when the US was still well east of the Mississippi.
There are 28 member states of NATO, an alliance purpose built for war with Russia. 5 of them border Russia. Explain to me again why NATO continued to exist after the Cold War?

this is what I've thought for a little while nowPutin is hanging on for dear life but do NOT underestimate him. He maintains power at the moment because a) he has destroyed ALL possible rivals (simply- there is no one to follow him which is actually really REALLY bad as you do not want to imagine what would happen if he suddenly died; it would be way worse than now) and b) the factions behind him are busy at war with one another for cash/power.
