Releasing today is the new album by The Titillators, Your Kind of Music, the follow up to last year's self-titled debut. Where the first album saw the band tackling a half-dozen jazz standards with their unusual arrangements (street-sweeper bristle bass, two synths, whistling, percussion, and a handful of vocals), this new album features ten original compositions penned by bandleader/bristle player Ryan Driver.

On October 24, the prolific Automatisme returns with a new EP, Rate through the Dream Disk Lab imprint. Opening track "Alter-Rate 4" can be streamed currently.

Twin Peaks released their new album this weekend and it’s easily one of the best records I’ve heard all year.

They just played here. Sorry I missed it as this new one does sound pretty good on the first pass.

I know that band for some reason...I think my friend recommended them to me a few years ago. I'll have to check it out.

Re: Chastity Belt: I was huge on their album from a few years ago, kinda meh on this one at first listen (although I loved the lead single/lead track from the get go). Then I listened again, and again, and have probably played the album 8 times across the weekend.

Love the shoegazey, summery, blissful vibe they have. Great album to listen through on a cruisy Sunday afternoon.

Yep, agreed completely. None of the tracks are super memorable after Ann's Jam but it's got a great end-of-summer vibe.

I guess this kinda counts:

Deakin, from Animal Collective, released his solo debut, Sleep Cycle in 2016 on digital platforms and as a limited cassette to sell at his live shows. Now, Domino, AC's record label is putting out a slightly remastered physical reissue of the album on CD, vinyl, and tape, releasing October 4. Sleep Cycle was one my favorite releases in 2016, and I've always wished that it had a CD run since I generally prefer that format, so I'm pretty pleased with this development.

Ann's Jam is in my head, and I love it. spent the whole weekend playing the album.

I locked down some tickets for The Riviera in Chicago in Nov. Very stoked to catch them live. Sad I missed a couple in-store performances the last 2 weekends. Still loving this record, big time ‘The Band’ vibe on Lookout Low.

Some of the stuff ended up on QOTSA albums, some of it ended up on other bands albums. There's a lot of good stuff, but a lot of questionable "this is a bunch of friends goofing around" as well.

Also it's a collective so the line-up is constantly changing.
