Dude needs to retire and seek medical attention. There's no way he doesn't have CTE or some other kind of brain damage. And I'm not being snarky. I'm serious. Pretty sure that SB that Manning won with Denver is the worst season/post-season performance by a super bowl winning QB. Even worse than Dilfer.

I don't really get this rational, honestly.durdencommatyler wrote:And I don't think there's a chance in hell Manning throws that many INTS if BB is his coach and the Pats are his career team. Not a chance.run2death wrote:Peyton threw considerably more INTs than Tom and had many just flat-out bad playoff performances.
Tom's never thrown more than 14 INTs in a season and Peyton had 9 seasons when he threw 14 or more.
1. Brady
2. Brees
3. Manning
4. Rodgers*
* Rodgers will probably end up being No. 2.
However, his ability to fucking choke and play down in the playoffs probably still haunts him, regardless. Brady is/was/will always be the far superior clutch player. And if that's the aspect of the game that matters the most (which it arguably is) then Brady is probably still the better of the two. I'm not even 100% sure that Manning would have won as many SB's as Brady & BB have. Because the aforementioned ability to play down in the post season. I'm not sure BB could coach that away entirely. But BB would have definitely been able to bandage that wound better than any coach/staff Manning played for. I bet the two of them would have had at least 6 SB appearances and probably 4 wins together.
Belichick isn't exactly a "QB whisperer."
I'm not sure if Peyton would have responded well to the kind of public/in-practice belittling that he apparently likes to hand out.
I think that's a tense dynamic that only works well with specific players and situations (Parcells/Simms and Belichick/Brady come to mind).

Probably true. The dude was done way before he walked away. If he'd had another ring already, he would have hung it up at least two years earlier. Probably three.
Still, hell of a football mind and field general. I hate the guy but he was special to watch as long as he wasn't ass raping my team.

Re: 2019 NFL Season
This is probably more true than not, yeah. It's a special sauce situation and you can't just replace ingredients willy nilly. But just put Brady on the Chargers. Do you think that guy has six Super Bowl rings as the QB of that team over the same timespan he's played for the Pats? Does he have one? Or is he basically just remembered as Phillip Rivers?run2death wrote:I don't really get this rational, honestly.durdencommatyler wrote:And I don't think there's a chance in hell Manning throws that many INTS if BB is his coach and the Pats are his career team. And again... Matt Cassel. Obviously, BB didn't win a ring with that guy. But he won 11 games with him and turned him into a 60 million dollar prize. And what did that guy do anywhere else? Is he even still in the league? I honestly don't know. BB and Manning would have been electric. Maybe not BB & Brady but still, electric.
I do wonder if Manning and BB would have butted heads on play calling at all, though. Manning being so proud of himself as a field general. I wonder how that would have rubbed up against BB.
We'll never know. History will remember Tom Brady as the GOAT and the world will keep on spinning.

Which is all to say, again, I don't want to take anyway from Brady. I think he's a great player. A sixth round pick that made the most of the opportunity he was given. Can't hate that.

He's best friends with Jimmy Butler, who acts the same way. Jimmy Butler is best friends with Mark Wahlberg. Thus, this can all be traced back to Wahlberg.durdencommatyler wrote:Dude needs to retire and seek medical attention. There's no way he doesn't have CTE or some other kind of brain damage. Guys like Butler and AB are super into player empowerment. They see contracts as forms of oppression.run2death wrote:So it was just a big plan to get AB to the Pats.verb_to_trust wrote:He's best friends with Jimmy Butler, who acts the same way. I want to see this AB shit show end in New England. They would pound teams by 50 points every week. The NFL sucks so bad.
Durden, I totally disagree with your Manning, Brady, BB takes, but I respect you.

I hope he goes to a team with an even worse QB. Like the Titans or something.

Thanks, man. I have nothing but respect for you, too. I hope you know that. And I don't pretend to know as much about football as others. I'm doing a lot of projecting, I'm sure. But thanks for reading and not taking offense. That was certainly never my intention. You're a good dude, Coach.Coach wrote:I want to see this AB shit show end in New England. Also... you'll likely beat everyone by 50 points without AB, too.
