The album kicks open the door with a run of cuts that play fast and loose with rhythm and melody, featuring miniature breakdowns and guitar-riff emissions so thick they might violate EPA standards.

Really confusing considering the current state of the EPA.

Pitchfork sucks but I think it's increasingly common to have a mid-20s breakdown given the state of the economy post-2008.tragabigzanda wrote:Ah yes the age-old wisdom of 24-year olds:

A mid-20s breakdown among pitchfork's average readership? Absolutely.Mickey wrote:Pitchfork sucks but I think it's increasingly common to have a mid-20s breakdown given the state of the economy post-2008.tragabigzanda wrote:Ah yes the age-old wisdom of 24-year olds:

this doesn't really suggest a "breakdown" or even "wisdom" like Trag sarcastically suggests. More the beginnings of a reassessment of who you are, and who you think you'll turn out to be, which absolutely rings true in my experience.that messy period where one’s early projections about the future tend to start unraveling
I think Sasha Geffen is a very good music writer. She was with Consequence of Sound for a long time. I remember her review of Vulnicura being particularly illuminating.

October Song
The gorgeous and hypnotic second Lightning Bug album focuses more than ever on songwriter Audrey Kang's hushed voice and simple, soulful lyrics.

Absolutely. And though I don't think this can be totally generalized (the age-range mostly likely corresponds to being a few years out of college), it's certainly more common than just "Pitchfork readers"theplatypus wrote:But also like,Mickey wrote:Pitchfork sucks but I think it's increasingly common to have a mid-20s breakdown given the state of the economy post-2008.tragabigzanda wrote:Ah yes the age-old wisdom of 24-year olds:

Was the Wikipedia blackout of 2012 as important a cultural moment as the New York City blackout of '77?
