We made tentative plans to meet at the gym Thursday mornings for tempo stuff.

Haven't run in a week. Heel is still not right but I'm tired of not running. Gonna see what I can do. It'll be slow, but maybe I can get in 5 miles or so. It'll depend on pain level.

This wasn't as bad as expected. First half mile hurt. But one I loosened up it was basically fine. Could have gone faster but didn't want to push unnecessarily.durdencommatyler wrote:Haven't run in a week. Heel is still not right but I'm tired of not running. Gonna see what I can do. I've been dealing with the same sort of problem for months now. Takes a mile to warm up my Achilles but after that I manage okay.durdencommatyler wrote:This wasn't as bad as expected. Yeah. I bought some new shoes for work. Hopefully that squashes the issue. Business footwear can really trash your feet out of nowhere if you don't pay attention.durdencommatyler wrote:Do you feel pain during the day?verb_to_trust wrote:I've been dealing with the same sort of problem for months now. Guys, I know I try to present myself as a "just run through it" tough guy with injuries, but please don't fuck around with your Achilles.
That's an injury that can last a lifetime.
Rest.

Also, this showed up in my FB feed and kinda depressed me. I'm at least 15% right now.

I'm not sure mine is an Achilles injury, though. It's in my heel. I have no idea what it is.run2death wrote:Guys, I know I try to present myself as a "just run through it" tough guy with injuries, but please don't fuck around with your Achilles.

Re: The Running Thread
For the first time in about 10 years, I think I'm gonna start working out again and just focus on getting "fit."
I kinda hate to do it, I've always just worried about being in running shape, but I've been dealing with this damn hamstring for 2 years now.
Probably gonna do 3 short runs a week and 3 workouts a week.
The RM running crew is falling apart.

Yeah. Your post yesterday really got my paranoia going about my achilles problem. I should take a few months off and use the time to get shoulder surgery.run2death wrote:For the first time in about 10 years, I think I'm gonna start working out again and just focus on getting "fit."

Re: The Running Thread
I need to buy some new running shoes. I need something that can survive a while on rocky roads cause my current shoes are shot just after about 20 runs on them.
