Lot's of us like adidas Boston's but I suspect you have a broader foot than many of us. You don't really need trail runners unless you are doing super hardcore terrain. Like I am mountain running in normsl runners. What were you wearing?tree_ wrote:I need to buy some new running shoes. I need something that can survive a while on rocky roads cause my current shoes are shot just after about 20 runs on them.

Re: The Running Thread
I was using these old Nike running shoes that are WAYY too worn out and were hurting my feet so I switched to my Skechers walking shoes and they wore out real fast.. basically gone now... So i went with Saucony and tried them out but the sides of my feet went numb and got real sore... I thought they were snug but not too snug... How'd you know my feet were so wide, Dev? Gonna try taking them back and getting a size up and see if that helps.

That would require me to actually run often.verb_to_trust wrote:Join our dead ass Strava groupMonkey_Driven wrote:Registered for a 5k.

I would join strava but nobody has told me how, even though I've asked for help multiple times.

Re: The Running Thread
i could tell from photos what type of build you have and thus what your feet are prob like. but yeah saucony also fits narrow feet like mine so not a good option for you. you need to ask them what type of shoes are good for broad feet.tree_ wrote:I was using these old Nike running shoes that are WAYY too worn out and were hurting my feet so I switched to my Skechers walking shoes and they wore out real fast.. basically gone now... Re: The Running Thread
If you have wide feet, New Balance still makes many of their shoes in wider widths.
Also, ultra/trail running shoes like Altra and Hoka would be good options.

Is it an app? Where do I go on the internet to join? What's the group called? How does it all work?Dev wrote:make an accounttree_ wrote:I would join strava but nobody has told me how, even though I've asked for help multiple times.

I'm gonna try exchanging my shoes today. Do you think the Saucony would be OK a size up or should I definitely get a wide shoe?

Re: The Running Thread
Just go to Sauconys website and sort by wide. There are several good options. Sizing up makes the shoe longer, not wider.

Re: The Running Thread
Well I hope the shoe store gives me a refund then. If I have to exchange I can just go with a different brand that actually has wides in stock, i suppose. Nike had some but they felt weird.verb_to_trust wrote:Just go to Sauconys website and sort by wide. There are several good options. Sizing up makes the shoe longer, not wider.

You can download the app or just login on the site. Try googling strava, genius. Fucc.tree_ wrote:Is it an app? Where do I go on the internet to join? What's the group called? I still have some soreness at the mid point of my Achilles when I pinch it with my fingers but it feels a lot better. Haven't ran in 5 days. Probably need to rest more but man it's hard.

Ugh i know you guys will just ignore me but please just learn how to stretch. Stretching requires as much effort as running. Put the time in.

Re: The Running Thread
No, you're right. I could get away with it when I was younger. I'm 35 now and just can't slack on it anymore. I read David Goggins book. He talked a lot about stretching and how it basically is the key to his ability to grind like he does now that he is older.Dev wrote:Ugh i know you guys will just ignore me but please just learn how to stretch.
