Re: What are you playing?
Yeah, forgot the cents. I'm liking the game so far, though the scarcity of items and the short span they're available will make people spend spend spend. Or not play at all, I'm not psychic.
Though the idea that you should pay $19.99 to get Mario in a Mario game is fucking insane. $5 I'd go for but twenty fucking dollars? No way man.

I don't get it, I've won my first 7 or 8 races.
I'm not that good of a Mario Kart player.
Are you really playing against other users or are those just NPCs in the beginning?

Re: What are you playing?
I wonder as well. I can say that bumping up to 100cc was an eye-opener because the drivers were actually aggressive.
I don't know what to think about the drift-centric style of driving. Can't quite get the hang of it.
Also I wish I understood what the numbers are doing. They keep going up, and that's always cool, but otherwise I'm at a loss because the game doesn't explain it. Best I can figure is that the numbers go up and increase your beginning bonus when a race starts? Same thing was in Dr. Mario where you'd be pumping numbers into your characters and it was never explained how that was a good thing.
I got one of the three ultra-rare items this morning, the taxi, so that was nice.

Re: What are you playing?
I had the same experience. Bumped it up to 100cc after the first couple of cups and the races were closer. got handed my first 3rd place. The drift style should be familiar to people who have played mario kart on the switch, that's where i'd seen it before. Maybe it was introduced earlier. Once you get the hang of it it's pretty hand and a good way to keep the speed boosts going if you can time it right.run2death wrote:I don't get it, I've won my first 7 or 8 races.

Ultimately i can see this game getting real grindy real fast. I'll play it 'til it does then dump it.

Joke's on him. I was going to give it to him when he's a little older.CopperTom wrote:Where did you bury your son?Monkey_Driven wrote:My son stood on a backpack where it was stored.CopperTom wrote:What happened? Did you drop it?Monkey_Driven wrote:My 2DS XL top screen is broken.
Luckily, it's a pretty cheap replacement.

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep coming tomorrow.
Also I’ve gotten into Pinball FX3, but I hate how difficult and expensive it is to buy all the tables.

I didn't realize Ori and the Blind Forrest was on Switch already. Might have to download that tonight.

Re: What are you playing?
I sunk a good amount of time into Spiderman over the past few days. Having a good time, and I'm still mostly just doing collectables.
I've been playing MLB The Show all summer, and I topped out my Diamond Dynasty team today by collecting all of the live series teams. The reward is a ridiculously overpowered Willie Mays card that I'm excited to play with. Did it all with no microtransactions, just playing through the game and trading cards, which I am pretty proud of (in my younger and dumber days, I sunk like an extra $150 into an EA NHL game and rarely got any good players; this was much more rewarding).

I've gotten pretty into the similar NBA 2k MyTeam Mode. It's fun to mix and match different lineups/cards.Simple Torture wrote:I sunk a good amount of time into Spiderman over the past few days. Having a good time, and I'm still mostly just doing collectables.

Re: What are you playing?
Do you play online, or do they have a single-player component in NBA? I've always been frustrated with online sports games, so I don't even bother. The rewards are better online, but I don't think it's worth the hassle.
They just released a high-powered Ted Williams card, and I guess that's the last one I am going to aim to collect.

Re: What are you playing?
I barely ever play online because of the lag. I just can't adjust to the variance between games in the timing of my shots, defending, etc. Even a few miliseconds is enough.Simple Torture wrote:Do you play online, or do they have a single-player component in NBA? Re: What are you playing?
still loving What the Golf. If you do the free month of Apple Arcade, get Cricket Through the Ages and play it with a second person. It's really funny, mostly due to how hard the game is for everyone. Single player is terrible because the computer knows how to play and you'll just die over and over.

Control is really good once it gets going. The patch noticeably improved the framerate.
