Oddly. The two most controversial Jedi have been singled out here.

Windu often flirted with the dark side.

Qui Gon lived and breathed the true Jedi way to respect the balance. Something the council ignored and had lost their way from.

So it seems this is actually happening

Michael Waldron is writing (chief creative at marvel studios) and developing at least one project for Lucasfilm.

My hope is Feige views this project as a one-off he can focus on without having to worry about setting the table for 30 years of an interconnected franchise. A good change of pace from what he's accountable for with the MCU, in other words.

Disney, no doubt, will have other ideas if this is successful but we'll see.

Yeah I agree. I think they’ll just let him do whatever he wants here. They’re not gonna tell him or that writer what they can or can’t do. Just go wild with a story unburdened by canon.
As long as something looks and feels like Star Wars it can be Star Wars. And the design aesthetic and locations take care of that.

Feige has said he’s no longer doing his Star Wars movie.

I’d forgotten he was doing one.
