No numerical significance. Just the end of his outline. He didn't want to pad the plotlines just to extend its life.

At one point, he compared TWD franchise to Star Trek. I’m expecting a new version to sprout up within a year or so.

For any of you that are fans of the Claremont/ Byrne run on Uncanny X-Men, Byrne has started a web series/ fanfic thing where he continues as if their original ending to 137 and the original 138 had happened. (139-140 kinda happen, too, but they’re mentioned kinda in a passing reference only) He’s writing and pencilling it. He was in talks with Marvel about publishing it since about a year ago, but he’s decided not to go with Marvel and is just putting it out as fanfic on his forum. He’s already got the first issue and a few pages of the second up. He’s showing a page or so a day on Mon-Fri. Guess his forum traffic isn’t busy enough on weekends? Who knows? Anyway, here’s the links for the first two issues.

He’s knocking this out of the park. Some of his best work ever.

He started it just to see how well he could still pencil something for another person to ink, since it’s been so long that someone else has inked him. I thing the art answers that one pretty definitively. I wish he and Marvel could’ve worked something out. I’d love to have a finished comic of this in my hands.

And I love Silvestri and Hitch, too. Wish Silvestri would get behind his drawing board again, tho. It’s been too long.

Nope, other than saying it was his decision not to go with them.
