All things considered a pretty, pretty good home stand.

Playoff spot clinched! Folty has looked really good since his return from the minors.
Haven't heard anything about Culberson today; that HPB looked (and sounded) horrific.

I hope he's ok. That was bad.
Albies is on a tear. If Acuna can get right again it'd be nice to see him get to 40-40. Also, Nick Markakis!

Re: Atlanta Braves
Culberson has facial fractures and is done for season but a full recovery is expected.
The bench depth took a hit with him and Camargo both getting hurt this weekend.

Re: Atlanta Braves
The entire roster composition changes because of his injury. A bench of Culberson (or Camargo), Duvall, Hamilton and catcher will likely now be Hecheveria, Riley, catcher, and either Duvall or Hamilton. I would have preferred Riley left off the post season roster, but he's our only back-up at 1B, 3B.

Re: Atlanta Braves
I assumed he'll be in the starting line up. They wouldn't have moved Markakis to left if they didn't plan on playing Joyce regularly in right. I find it unusual that Joyce is only comfortable in right and they would move Markakis to accomodate Joyce.Electromatic wrote:CopperTom wrote:The entire roster composition changes because of his injury. Interesting that we now have a combined age of 70 in the corner outfield starting spots.

We have to be the youngest team in the postseason anyway.Electromatic wrote:CopperTom wrote:I assumed he'll be in the starting line up. Me too. A cold finish with injury concerns. If this team was healthy, I would be all in.

There’s Fried, Soroka and nothing else in the organization for pitching.
They played 162 games and invalidated all that in 1 night.
If they lose this series all they did was waste 7 years of time.

You are such a drama queen. Relax. Only 1 team wins the World Series. When the end of the season comes, it can be both disappointing and successful.

What an exciting finish; I hadn't been that wrapped up in a baseball game in a while.

Oh I am for sure. Totally undersold Folty, I didn’t know he had that in himCopperTom wrote:You are such a drama queen. Relax. Only 1 team wins the World Series. When the end of the season comes, it can be both disappointing and successful.
I hope he’s got one more.
But for progress to be made, they have to win Wednesday, period.
Otherwise it’s basically 2012 again
Not a fan of Carlos Martinez.

Folty always had the arm of an ace and the brain of a little leaguer. He has the worst body language in MLB, but he controlled that the other day.Electromatic wrote:Oh I am for sure. Martinez is definately plunking Acuna in their next regular season meeting. It'll get ugly.

I'm hoping that since it's basically perfect weather (80 degrees and low humidity) it will bring out the best in him. He and Duvall both have been better versions of themselves since coming from Gwinnett. Damn if Duvall could have come through again with the bases loaded. Oh well.
Here's to hoping Freddie gets some kind of shaman to fix his elbow for one game and Donaldson does something to fix his timing. After tomorrow it's either all gravy, or lamentations.
