I'd give Control a solid 8.5.

Pros:
- Levitation and throwing mechanics never cease to get old
- Good leveling system that rewards approaching enemies in new ways
- Environmental storytelling/collectibles add to the story and atmosphere
- Level design and metroidvania-ness
- Variety of gun types
- Variety of personal and gun mods
- Art direction
- Some recurring parts of the story are creepy, yet engaging
- Excellent side missions
- Serviceable story/characters
-
Spoiler: show
The maze!
Cons:
- Still some framerate issues
- Limited number of enemy types (really only 5 or 6 outside of bosses)
- Very dark in places, would sometimes fall to my death because I couldn't see the floor (even after adjusting brightness)
- Long loading sequences
- The voice acting/performances are hit or miss
- Character animations are a bit jilted in cutscenes

Definitely worth buying later this year if you see a good deal and if you like a good third person action game.

I'm not a trophy hunter, either. It's fun sometimes to get a notification that you've done something interesting (i.e. killed a certain number of bad dudes, done something in a quick amount of time, etc.), but I've never gotten a platinum trophy and really have never aimed for it. But I did 100% RDR1.

I have never played a game just to get a platinum trophy, but I will go out of way to earn one if I really like a game and if it looks obtainable. It forces me to play a game in a different way, which can be a lot of fun.

I've never tried to legitimately attempt a 100%, but i've gotten pretty close on a few games just from obsessive playing. One of my favorite moves is to try and scale the highest structure or feature and see if the game as a trophy for it  .

We should play Diamond Dynasty sometime! I am sure our schedules will never, ever match up.

Are you talking the 2019 game? I’d be down, once I get a little better at the mechanics.
Yeah, 2019. Definitely take some time to work on the basics. I recommend using the same camera angle to both pitch and hit, and to study the movement of your pitches as you throw them--that should help you recognize pitch type and location.

tragabigzanda wrote:So ST, I'm pretty good with all the controls of The Show except for one thing: When fielding (with the first control style, I think they call it "manual"?), it seems like sometimes my fielders run to catch the ball and are right where they need to be, and other times it's like they're not there quick enough and I have to take over. I'm not entirely sure what's happening here. Help.
I'll have to see what my settings are and let you know. Whatever settings I have on, players with great fielding stats break towards the ball at the crack of the bat and then I take over, whereas players with lower stats you take control at the crack of the bat and have to do everything (I think this is actually a great feature). So like on the Red Sox, Betts will already be moving in the right direction and you can glide him in on easy plays, whereas JD Martinez needs more input from you. Does that make sense?

Probably the fielding mistake I made most often when first playing was overrunning balls hit into the outfield. If something is hit hard (whether it's in the air or on the ground), you want to let go of the stick right before you get to it, or it's gonna go right by your guy.

I am replaying Arkham Knight after doing the same with Asylum and City.

This series is damn near perfect. The only thing wrong with it is jamming the Batmobile down everyone's throats in Knight.

I had to stop playing because of the last batmobile mission before what I assumed was the finale. Just kinda ruined it for me.
