When I was about 8 or 9 my old man put on Ummagumma and we both lay on the carpet in the dark listening to it. I guess he was blazed.

"Grantchester" is kind of overlong, but this meandering folk thing is another favorite Floyd form of mine, so it takes the round over "Signs of Life" which is another moody instrumental that feels a bit more like wallpaper than a a good painting, to use an art metaphor.

i once listened to grantchester meadows in the actual grantchester meadows. i like signs of life just fine, but the memory wins out here.
