I may be in the minority, but I'd still like to find out who the fuck Snoke was

If you're in the minority, I'm there with you. I was literally just getting ready to type the same thing. So I guess he's part of some overall plan Palpatine has?

If he is, it would be nice to have something more than a throwaway line.

The comic where he goes to dagobah pretty much lays out he knew Luke and tried to turn him and failed or something to that effect

But was he in on palps plan to return? Caretaker emperor?

My major concerns:

- Making all three trilogies tie together in one movie (wrapping up this trilogy alone is a tough ask).
- Palpatine as the big bad. It's going to take a bit of exposition to explain what he has been doing for 30+ years without relying on side stuff outside of the movies. This exposition will take time away from the characters introduced in the first two movies.
- Trying to tie up loose ends. Not everything needs to be answered.
- Rey's background being related to Skywalkers, Kenobis, Palptatine, etc. Just let her be a nobody the Skywalkers train for future generations.
- I have a feeling they will bungle Kylo's redemption/downfall.
- What are the minor characters going to be doing in this story? Will they have enough screen time to care about their journey? Will they get to do grounded, cool stuff?
- As noted by VG, I have concerns about an End Game all out brawl being directed in a competent way. Has the potential to more fans service than story service.

I still plan to see this movie with an open mind and enjoy the spectacle.

Agree, how will they explain that Palps knew Vader was going to toss him into the Death Star? Unless Palps figured out how to be a force ghost, which I could stomach - a dark side force ghost seems fair and not unreasonable.

The other far fetched theory is Palps coming back from the dead in human form, learning from his master as explained in Revenge of the Sith.

I'm still not convinced that Kylo's in the repaired mask. It's more sense now after JJ explained it. But something is up.

So the trailer was pretty big. Lots of great visuals and adventurous feeling.

I don't know what to think about the whole Emperor thing as well. And while the C-3P0 lines was all sorts of schmaltz, it's hard to see the new ST characters as his friends. But I'm looking at it through my eyes and thoughts, since I've had a hard time connecting with the ST characters as well.

I didn't even put two and two together that FG Yoda was manipulating the physical world until reading about it afterwards.

So maybe there is a limit to the interaction between force world and physical. Didn't Yoda/Obi-Wan in ROTJ or ESB say they couldn't help Luke against Darth Vader?
