Not in Rogue One when they were first testing it, nor in Star Wars, when Luke blew it up not long after. In fact we know he was on Coruscant dissolving the Senate in a special session after Alderaan was blown up.Strat wrote:On-screen....Anders wrote:That would be weird. I know. I love how much of his old stuff they've pulled for the ST. Too me, that stuff is way more exciting than something like putting the Holiday Special gun in The Mandalorian (for example).

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
That was my initial thought. The sounds in the opening of that trailer totally sound like Endor, to me. I even turned to my wife and screamed EWOKS! That helmet is also what we see the Rebels wearing on Endor.dimejinky99 wrote:Omg what if it’s Endor and they get Warwick Davis back to play an older wicket and he meets Leia again!!

But the more I thought about it, the more I wondered if it was a different planet. Those iconic trees aren't shown. Poe is from Yavin. If the Tantive IV is still around, it would make sense to see it on Yavin. Going back to the beginning... all of that. Always possible that we'll see both locations, though. No need to "choose."

I hope they don't fill this with too much nostalgia, though.

The also used those huge sheds that made up yavin base in anh and r1. I can’t tell if it’s Endor or yavin. It feels more tropical so that suggests yavin
My pal says there’s ferns tho. So that’s endor

It won't be naked nostalgia. I'm confident it'll be thematically satisfying and necessary. It won't be "nostalgia" as much as connective tissue.E.H. Ruddock wrote:I hope they don't fill this with too much nostalgia, though.

Totally toss up! Both appropriate to the story. I'm just calling my early shot. We'll see.dimejinky99 wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:That was my initial thought. In a galaxy filled with thousands/millions of planets it would be disappointing to visit the same ten over and over again.

That thing Rylo shatters appears to possibly be some sort of statute. It could be a state meant to hold vaders helmet or something?

Also, the training grounds do kind of look like Endor at the very beginning.
Also, nice shot of rylo in what appears to be the emperors old throne room in ROTJ.
