Agreed, some bad guys just don't get to be redeemed. e.g. Palps isn't up for redemption or a conversion to the light side...or is he???wease wrote:Two reasons I don't want redemption.durdencommatyler wrote:The redemption and the helmet are the same thing to me. In that, as strat said, it's all about execution. And thematic clarity/cohesion. I just need to see how it all plays out before I form a solid opinion.
1) it's been done before. It doesn't need to happen again
2) he killed Han Solo. You shouldn't get to come back from that

It’s two hours thirty minutes. Confirmed.
Not sure how they know this cos it’s still being edited but hope it’s that long.

this is hollywood in 2019.. new idea are too hard, and more importantly, too risky. rehash, rehash, rehash.. and count the profits

The Last Jedi seemed kinda new and I enjoyed that one, but I hear it upset many.

Times given to cinemas this early, are often a few minutes longer than what it ends up being.dimejinky99 wrote:Oh right. Longer than tlj.durdencommatyler wrote:Pretty sure it's 155 mins.dimejinky99 wrote:Strat wrote:I hope this movie goes 3 hours long. Hell yea.

Just a poor movie, but I have faith this one will be more like TFA. Everything’s been good so far.Coach wrote:The Last Jedi seemed kinda new and I enjoyed that one, but I hear it upset many.

This makes sense in Star Wars.dimejinky99 wrote:There’s credence to the idea that Palpatines spirit is hiding inside the helmet though.Monkey_Driven wrote:The focus on Vader's helmet is kind of silly. I don't dislike it, it's just sort of silly.
Look at the scene when Vader kills him and his helmet flashes all blue once the big spray of blue shoots up the shaft.
Then there’s the pic of the blue vapour coming from it.
The. There’s the whole Kylo talking to it thing
That’s a lot for it to be nothing. But who knows

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
I just wish they took a different tack from the get go with this trilogy. We come back to the star wars world in TFA, and it's the same situation as ANH. The empire is back to running shit as if the end of Jedi didn't happen, albeit with a different name and a couple of whiny bitches at the helm.Coach wrote:The Last Jedi seemed kinda new and I enjoyed that one, but I hear it upset many.
I would've liked to know how that happened. The first movie should have started there - show us how the empire 2.0 came together and started to reassert power in the universe. Focus on Kylo.. show his ascent. Give us some more on Snoke. Make me care about who he is, who he first order is, and give me reason to fear them. Start it all off with a nice dark movie.. and then let's go to battle against this new iteration of evil that didn't just reappear magically and with no explanation.
Ah well

Ah well
Look, this story is so near and dear to all of our hearts. There's no way any of these movies could have been done without ruffling some feathers or disappointing a large swath of humanoids.
Im glad they brought Star Wars back even though there are countless other things i would have liked to see happen. Again, would never feel totally complete.
However, there are books out there that help bridge that gap you are concerned about dprival. For whatever that is worth.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Only saw the trailer once this morning on my phone while at work. I did get the main stuff, but lacked some of the feeling I had anticipated. But now I watched it twice on a big screen at home with the sound way up, and it made a world of difference. So beautiful. Great trailer. Didn't give away too much, but got the feeling just right.
