I just wish they took a different tack from the get go with this trilogy. We come back to the star wars world in TFA, and it's the same situation as ANH. The empire is back to running shit as if the end of Jedi didn't happen, albeit with a different name and a couple of whiny bitches at the helm.

I would've liked to know how that happened. The first movie should have started there - show us how the empire 2.0 came together and started to reassert power in the universe. Focus on Kylo.. show his ascent. Give us some more on Snoke. Make me care about who he is, who he first order is, and give me reason to fear them. Start it all off with a nice dark movie.. and then let's go to battle against this new iteration of evil that didn't just reappear magically and with no explanation.

Ah well
That would have been too much like the prequel trilogy then.

Look, this story is so near and dear to all of our hearts. There's no way any of these movies could have been done without ruffling some feathers or disappointing a large swath of humanoids.

Im glad they brought Star Wars back even though there are countless other things i would have liked to see happen. Again, would never feel totally complete.

However, there are books out there that help bridge that gap you are concerned about dprival. For whatever that is worth.
More prequel trilogy then. Please. :heartbeat:

Loved the book you recommended, it really does set up a lot of what dprival78 is talking about. There are plenty of ways they could have done more of that for TFA. Nevertheless, I love what JJ did with TFA. He went straight for the action and the A New Hope vibe.

You can enjoy a movie more with spoilers, it doesn't have to make it worse.

Well, huh.

I wonder how much of the trailers are CG'd for spoilers and changed for the final film? Like the Marvel movies do.

What if Palpatine manages to gain access to the world between worlds?

Or Mortis? He could easily do anything and be anywhere at that stage
