This is a specific reason why I don’t like that call at first base. Turner beat the throw. Plus he went straight into the base. If MLB wants to eliminate plays like this, and make it abundantly clear where the player is supposed to go, add the safety base in foul territory like they have in softball.

It may be a correct call by the book, but it’s definitely a flawed rule.
