EDIT: Some people were questioning some of the points raised, so let me be a little clearer.

Some claim that traders saying they didn’t know Epstein was an attempt to distance themselves from him, rather than any truthful statement about Epstein’s lack of presence on Wall Street. Epstein’s firm had no SEC filings, no paper trail, and his client list was a secret. It basically didn’t exist, as far as Wall Street was concerned.

The other issue is the matter of the OV-10 Bronco loaned to DynCorp in Colombia. Some have claimed that DynCorp was merely contracted to do an accident investigation on a previous OV-10 that crashed. This is incorrect. Think about it. If DynCorp wasn’t piloting the first plane, then who was? Diplomats? Unthinkable. DynCorp was brought in to cover their asses and explain to the State Department why they crashed an expensive turboprop plane, recreating and simulating the conditions leading to the incident.

What was DynCorp doing in Colombia? Coca eradication. They would load up crop dusters with the disgusting carcinogen glyphosate (Monsanto’s RoundUp is the same stuff), and they would spray half the Colombian countryside trying to kill coca plants, all with material support from the US DOS:

This stuff is a deadly poison that causes cancers, with multiple lawsuits over it, and they’re spraying it like Agent Orange. Y’know, I’ve used that stuff on the cracks in my driveway, and I would never let it touch my skin, ever. Imagine standing under one of these planes and being doused from head to toe with it, and then getting leukemia. It’s the stuff of nightmares.

Yes, N474AW is currently registered to a Cessna, but while it was registered to the Bronco, still, Epstein flew from Double Eagle II in Albuquerque to his Zorro Ranch, about fifty-odd miles away, in a Bell 206L-3 LongRanger, and the handwritten flight log says N474AW. My theory is that the flight log was deliberately forged to conceal the existence and ownership of a helicopter that actually has a totally different registration, and they used the registration of the Bronco to cover it up. Some have suggested that this is merely a typo.

To that, I can only reply, what are the chances that two different groups of human traffickers would share a tail number, or even a similar tail number, on their aircraft? If it was N475AW, or something even one character off, that would still be suspicious. But the matching numbers suggest to me that it’s actually a single organization that connects both (i.e. the DynCorp and Epstein’s trafficking ring are one and the same), and they lazily went down a list of their own aircraft and picked a random tail number, because the actual owner of the Bell 206 is someone very important who didn’t want their real N-Number known and their name besmirched by association with Epstein, and they didn’t expect the public to ever see the logs and connect the dots anyway.

The Katie Hill thing was bothering me. I'm suspicious of this idea that a sexual relationship with a person you may have power over at work is fundamentally wrong. A blanket prohibition on dating subordinates seems like a horrible authoritarian overreach the more I think about it.

When did we decide this? People with wildly different levels of power enter into relationships all the time, including employer/employee relationships, and it's often beneficial to the "weaker" party. I've known plenty of people who went on to have happy long-term relationships, so how could it be fundamentally wrong? Even if it ends in disaster, I don't think it would be wrong necessarily.

Under what circumstances would it be ok? An easy answer would be that it would be ok if the weaker party initiated it (though I'm sure some people would still have a problem with this), but even if the more powerful person initiates it, it's not automatically wrong.

Assuming power isn't being abused, let adults be adults. Stop trying to manage every fucking thing!

Ultimately, I suspect the prohibition on office relationships has become the norm because it serves corporate interests by lessening workplace drama. The patriarchy always wins.

within the last 3 years we have seen a President be elected due to foreign interference in our electoral system, that President fired the head of the FBI who was investigating him, and fired the head of the DOJ that recused himself from prosecuting him, that President had a file of incriminating evidence presented that demonstrated clear obstruction of justice, that President has publicly declared war on Free Press, passed a tax cut that serves only the wealthy and will bankrupt this country if a future administration does not adopt tax or fiscal policy to correct it, openly derided non-white americans, promoted deportation of immigrant children born in this country, disparaged every past president in recent history, violated the emoluments clause, laundered mob money, committed tax fraud, boasted about engaging in sexual assault, and cut every consumer protection he can get his hands on - and there has been no revolution.

bearing that in mind, we can safely assume that if we all saw the video of the intelligence agent / prison guard paid off by oligarchs / professional assassin that strangled that person to death and wrapped his head up to make it look like a suicide, there would be no revolution. there would be a bunch of internet memes, a shitty mock investigation, a fall guy, and then the super bowl would arrive and everyone would stop paying attention to it, forever
