We watched this yesterday. I fell asleep within the first half hour. I liked it, but it was almost soothing…also, the reclining chairs were super comfy.

The first one was good but I have no desire to watch this. Multiverse shit is so played out

Too many sequels in the marvel/spiderman world, but I will eventually watch them.

You get a new actor for every 2-3 film arc at least.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

There’s something about the general Spider-Man mythology that resonates with me; I’ll watch any of them.

This one was pretty enjoyable: it’s very much Gwen’s movie as much as it’s Miles’s. The multiverse gimmick is mostly played perfectly between humor moments and it’s place in the overall plot.
Spoiler: show
Also there’s a Spider-Man variant that’s a sentient vehicle called Peter Parked-car and it reminded me of our very own Whitey McTeeth’s Hugh Jackman in Huge Jacket Man masterpiece

other than somehow not knowing until the credits rolled that the new spider-verse movie was the first of a two-parter (thus leaving the theater still wanting more), i can't heap enough praise on this and the first spider-verse film. i still cannot believe the first one did not get a best picture nom. this one should, too, but maybe it being a part I will sink that. imo, both of the spider-verse movies have been utterly fantastic and incredible, top-to-bottom achievements in movie making.

This was a great movie. Loved it. Spider Buggy remains my favorite Spider-man.

meh, I don't know that it's fair to say the multiverse is played out. it's not glossy shiny new anymore, but the surface is barely scratched. movies have hardly even set the standards for what to expect in this kind of movie. how many have there even been?

those are the biggies I can think of, and nearly all are marvel movies. There'll be plenty more multiverse movies, playing with the idea and and doing interesting things. and boring things! but it's not played out

across the spider-verse was a ton of fun. they used every tool in the box and then invented a few new ones. i had a nice time

I wrote a whole post here justifying why I think it's "played out" but it sounded too pissy. I just don't think many of those movies listed are any good (not to mention The Flash, Loki, the Arrowverse shit, etc), and the concept as has been used thus far (in film and television) is super boring to me. That said, the Spiderverse movies allow for a lot more bold and creative explorations of the concept because of how they're made (mixed media, all the different art styles) and I've actually hyped myself up to watch this for that reason
