My least favorite Baumbach (that I've seen). But I still enjoyed it.

I don't know what it is, but I fucking love this movie.

There's a lot to love about it. But I saw Squid and the Whale and Frances Ha at the exact right points in my life. So I hold those in higher regard. But, yeah, I liked this thing a lot. Probably the best thing I've seen Stiller in.

I liked it too when I was younger. Haven't seen it since the theater on its opening weekend. But I've watched Face/Off since, and I really love it. It's stupid, sure. But it's the good kind of stupid. And you're right, Travolta is great in both.

Source Code. Alternate reality flicks can be tricky to pull off but this one mostly does it. Little disappointed in the ending though.

you should really try rewatching it. it's one of jarmusch's best films, i think.

I fucking hate John Woo's American films. For good Woo, check out The Killer, Hard Boiled, A Better Tomorrow and Bullet in the Head.

Our Idiot Brother - my expectations were near zero which is maybe why I loved it so much. Great cast. Funny. Charming. Not at all what I thought it was going to be. Much less stupid and more character driven than expected. I like Paul Rudd a lot.

The Road (2009) - pretty faithful adaptation outside of all the mom stuff. Didn't work on me like the book did. But I liked it.

It was about as good an adaption as could have been done, but it did fall flat with me too. I never got the overwhelming sense of desperation and dread from the film I got from book.

The added mom stuff damaged the story for sure, but it's expected as a movie about a father's dedication to a child would be against the Hollywood code of conduct unless the mother puts him up to it.

Dredd was surprisingly good. Great cast, some very well done scenes (particularly the "slo-mo" shots), and had a cool feel, just like a comic book. If you want a popcorn movie that isn't totally stupid, check it out.

Thanks for the tip. I saw that it's on Netflix Streaming and I was debating whether or not it was worth my time.

I didn't really like Dredd, some of the action was good but I didn't care for the story at all. The one positive thing I will say is that it was one of the better movies to watch with surround sound.

I enjoyed this.

After I finished this I watched The Raid again. Similar story with some great action/fight sequences.
