I bought a Xbox 360 in late 2008 I think, had owned many machines before then, most recently a PS2 and a Gamecube (my ex took that one with her in 2007). Knew a guy that played Halo 3 with his friends, and wanted me to play with them. Also bought a Wii so I could play with a girl I was dating, and because I enjoy Nintendo That was how the decade ended.
In the 2010s I've continued playing FIFA, Football Manager, and Halo games. They are series that continue to bring me joy. I have bought many games that are higher rated, but ended up just playing them for a few hours or less. I've limited my list to one game per franchise, and have only picked games that I have put a lot of hours into. For FIFA, FM and Halo, I've picked games that were brilliant for their time, although I most likely would play newer versions now.
I now own an Xbox One X and a Nintendo Switch, and mostly choose the below games based on my experiences with those:

Looks fun. I've got the last three FiFAs and have bought several previous versions. Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds and Skyward Sword both deserve a mention. Not too many 3DS games mentioned by RMers.

I forgot about Portal 2 as a game released in this decade. Lots of laughs playing it in co-op with my college pal after we moved to separate towns.
