Re: Lets Actually Listen to the Album: Backspacer
I hate the fact that people call it "keys" to make it sound cooler; cover up the fact that it's actually just keyboard and sounds like shit.

Re: Lets Actually Listen to the Album: Backspacer
Well my particular use of "keys" was more of a tonal thing -- the implication being, like BO'B is "too cool for school!! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!" kinda thing. You can't tell me you don't believe that BO'B refers to them as "keys." We both know he does. Still.... I'm sorry to have offended.harmless wrote:I hate the fact that people call it "keys" to make it sound cooler; cover up the fact that it's actually just keyboard and sounds like shit.

I'm hearing a strange link between come back and speed of sound, for the first time.
They both have this 50s (is doowap the word?) feel to them.
I like it.

Re: Lets Actually Listen to the Album: Backspacer
Nope, not blues at all; Come Back is like a 50s rock n roll doo-wop slow dance song. Although I think the studio version of SoS is just a mess that doesn't know what it is. I don't know how hammered dulcimer or lasers is trying to recapture 50's doo-wop stuff. But I guess there's a hint of it in the rhythm.warehouse wrote:12 bar blues?dimejinky99 wrote:I'm hearing a strange link between come back and speed of sound, for the first time.
