Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
There have been countless beasts of burden in SW going all the way back to the original film. Most of them have been reptiles and no one has given a good tin shit about it. It's beyond bizarre to me that some out there are bothered by the Orbaks. Riding a giant iguana is totally fine! But THERE ARE NO FUCKING HORSES IN STAR WARS GODDAMNIT.dimejinky99 wrote:I don’t like sweating small stuff.
But horses? Again?everyones least favourite bit of the last film was the horses.
Either jj is saying FU to the ones that complained or FU to Rian ‘this is how you do horses right’
Or Neither. Or both.
It's like... maybe let's just watch the movie, you know? But I guess people gotta fill the time somehow.

I think it’s the setting. They’re on the bow of a star destroyer.
I’m not that bothered. Haven’t seen anyone that bothered either.
Predicting it will be an issue after release though.
Although.
Even I’m having problems with Rey’s ‘jump’. No fuckin way is she making that.
She’s made huge huge jumps in the few teasers and trailers so far. But this one?
I’d say there’s a cut happening there and kylo does something pulls her back.

Yeah, the discourse around them here has been fairly level. But in my sphere I've seen/heard a lot of "outrage" about the Orbaks. Maybe it will end up being totally ridiculous but I just want to see the full context. I'm not opposed to the idea of them or the fact of their "existence" in Star Wars, though. Some out there really are. Like all of this, it's about context and execution.

Bold prediction. She’ll fall in love with him just as he dies to save her.
And she’ll live her life out a sexless spinster Jedi. Bitter and withered. Love lost
What a waste. She’s so beautiful

I like how much of Rey and Kylo together that we're seeing in the promo material so far. That new TV Spot... the show of Rey in front of the stairs in the snow... and there's Kylo in the side of the frame.
As much as I adore the supporting cast, this whole movie could be just Rey and Kylo and I'd be happy.

maybe they were riding on the planet surface and all the star destroyers are emerging and they get caught on one while it's rising and they are trying to race to a hangar bay to get inside before it goes into space and kills them all.durdencommatyler wrote:Yeah, the discourse around them here has been fairly level. Me too pal
Guys.
This is the last time we’re gonna get to do this.
This is it.
So happy we all got to go on this adventure together. Lotta ways the build up is the best part.
Less than a month to go. So surreal.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan made, like 72 story leaps in TPM. This is nothing. Even Luke in ESB shot out of that tube on Bespin like a rocket and went 40 feet straight up.dimejinky99 wrote:I think it’s the setting. They’re on the bow of a star destroyer.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Seems like we've seen several scenes with Rey and Kylo together. And even a few of them have lightsabers ignited with possible fighting. Seems like a lot more than the previous films.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
"So with or without Kennedy, sources say it seems likely that Favreau will have a lot of say over the future of Star Wars. These sources also say Kennedy's ideal team includes key roles for Michelle Rejwan, a producer on Episode IX and Lucasfilm's senior vp live action development and production, and Dave Filoni, the veteran animation director and George Lucas protege who directed live action for the first time with two episodes of Mandalorian."
